Default Signature updates, are they proxy aware?

Good question.

Can Anti-Spyware download signature updates from behind a
proxy firewall via a HTTP proxy on TCP/3128?

I have IE configured to proxy all requests via the proxy
server on my network on port 3128. Will Anti-
Spyware "learn" the proxy settings from IE?

Thanks,

Kevin

Default Proxy - Manual Setting needed, HELP MS!!!

I need this as well. I think MS AS uses IE's proxy but
we utilize a Unix Proxy forwarding box which points IE to
the real Proxy server and apps that does not read Auto
Proxy scripts fail. MS needs to include an option to use
a specific Proxy whereas corporate users can enter a
specific Proxy+Port to get around this. I had to do the
same thing on AdAware and after doing this it worked
fine. Just need to know the registry key for MS Anti-
Spyware until it gets added in later BETA release.

Kevin,

Your are correct with your guess. In order to get past a
proxy server, such as a corporate firewall, you have to
define the correct proxy server definitions to Internet
Explorer. I just configured my Beta that way, and it
worked fine.
