Default norton firewall is causing a crash

>-----Original Message-----
>I have norton internet security 2002 and lately it has

started to act strange. My firewall configurations (those
who decide which programs that have access to internet
and which that have not) are constantly updating itself,
about one time every second. This causes my computer to
run very slow and after a while run out of memory and
then crash.

scan for viruses and I have checked symantecs webpage but
I couldn´t solve the problem.

The very same thing was happing to me last week!It seems
to be a corrupted file, "symproxy.exe" It happened when
I installed an update and was told I had to reboot,I
uninstalled and reinstalled three flapping times to no
avail. Finally I got disgusted and installed "ZoneAlarm"
and after using it for a week I relized that I should
have installed it a couple of years ago, Way better than
Norton's firewall.
www.zonelabs.com
I e/mailed symantec last week "still waiting" for an
answer glad I'm not holding my breath.
