1.) Hide tray icon does not work until AntiSpyware is restarted
I installed AntiSpyware, went to options, settings, general, and chose "Hide the Microsoft AntiSpyware icon on the system tray" however, the icon remained in the system tray until AntiSpyware was restarted. Then, after running another scan, the icon once again appeared in the tray and refused to disappear. 2.) The mouse wheel does not work in certain lists Go to any of the lists under Advanced tools (the ones in system explorers, browser hijack restore, or tracks eraser) and the mouse wheel does not work for scrolling. It also happens for other lists such as the results list from a scan. 3.) Quick help button opens a window off the screen. Clicking Quick help seems to want to open the help window directly to the right of the AntiSpyware window. That's great, except there isn't always room. If the AntiSpyware window is already at the edge of the screen, you have to slide the window to the left to be able to view the help (the help window moves with it). However, if the window is maximized, you can't see the help without first un-maximizing the window. 4.) Suspected spyware dialog The tooltip that appears on the "description of problem" is too wide to be completely seen on an 800x600 resolution screen. Making this a multi-line tooltip would solve the problem. 5.) Using alt+tab shows strange window When I alt+tab between windows, I see a very strange window titled "gcasDtServHolder." It is a dialog box that contains 3 copies of the bullseye logo, and 5 push buttons (that overlap eachother) reading "systrayhide" "systrayshow" "systraynormal" "systrayscanning" "systrayupdating" this window remains in alt+tab even when AntiSpyware is closed (well, running in the background). This seems like this window should be a background process with no GUI. 6.) Open dialog does not use XP themes Go to Tools, Advanced Tools, Advanced File Analyzer, click "Browse...", the dialog that opens does not support XP themes on Windows XP. 7.) Advanced File Analyzer does not appear in Advanced Tools section Though it appears in the menu, if you go to the Advanced Tools section via the button at the top right, this tool is no where to be found. 8.) AntiSpyware's own hook is unknown If you go to System Explorers, Shell Execute Hooks, you'll see Microsoft.AntiSpyware.ShellExecuteHook.1 is marked as "unknown." Shouldn't AntiSpyware know about its own hook? 9.) System Explorers -> IE Settings, right panel overlaps scrollbar The "Setting Details" panel overlaps the scrollbar on the list of settings just slightly (tested on 800x600). 10.) Tracks Eraser scrollbar does not resize Go to the Tracks Eraser, scroll all the way down to the bottom. Click, "show only available erasable tracks." Suddenly, the listbox becomes blank (or so it seems). Press the "up" arrow on the scrollbar and suddenly everything becomes visible. 11.) Dead link in "About Microsoft AntiSpyware" Go to Help, About Microsoft AntiSpyware, then when it loads, click the "on the web" url (http://www.microsoft.com/athome/sec...spyware/product). The page does not exist 12.) Balloon popups in results The balloons are supposed to disappear when you release the mouse, however, you can make them remain. Click the + for "view all detected locations" in one of the results. Click and hold on the first entry to make the balloon appear. Drag the mouse pointer down to somewhere else on the screen, say the Spyware Threat Details pane. Now release the mouse button. The balloon stays visible. The Balloon remains visible even when you switch applications. It does disappear after a certain number of seconds however. 13.) Clicking on the Spyware scan, real-time protection, or advanced tools halts a scan Not really a bug, just a very poorly designed feature. Clicking these buttons (and various menu items) cancels the current scan without so much as a warning. It'd be nice to have a confirmation box to make sure you really want to do this. I hope this is helpful! |
