When all is said and done, is this going to be a
subscription based product or is it going to be part of Windows? I assume subscription based, but thought I'd ask. |

Everything posted by Microsoft so far, which you should read, says "not yet
determined." I don't think you will hear anything else from the horses mouth until the actual final form is announced. There are reports that PC Statisfaction is resurected and Microsoft will
release it as a subscription service. It will have the AV Program (bought by Microsoft), This product. Plus I am sure whatever else is in there. Seems the monitoring and firewall were brought into XP SP2. -- Thank you, Eric Vogel "Bill Sanderson" <Bill_Sanderson@msn.com.plugh.org> wrote in message news:%23cEFI1A9EHA.2280@CPMSFTNGSA04.privatenews.microsoft.com... > Everything posted by Microsoft so far, which you should read, says "not > yet determined." > > I don't think you will hear anything else from the horses mouth until the > actual final form is announced. > > "Michael" <anonymous@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message > news:0e1f01c4f40a$f53cf680$a601280a@phx.gbl... >> When all is said and done, is this going to be a >> subscription based product or is it going to be part of >> Windows? That is UNFORTUNATE. My feeling/opinion is that Microsoft needs to do more in terms of Windows OS architecture to protect OS and apps... and due to architectural "flaws"... spyware has become a serious problem.... and AntiSpyware may be first step to do so... but offering as SUBSCRIPTION or FEE is not appropriate. Offering integrated in Windows AND free (not fee) based updates similar to Windows/Office Updates... would be best solution for Microsoft and customers alike. >-----Original Message----- >There are reports that PC Statisfaction is resurected and Microsoft will >release it as a subscription service. It will have the AV Program (bought by >Microsoft), This product. Microsoft can only really stop the ones that worm themselves in via
vulnerabilities that Microsoft needs to fix. If a user installs it on itself or another program and does not read the EULA, then that is the users fault. IE in XP SP2 seems to do a pretty good job with the info bar, but then again I wonder how many users just ok everything? -- Thank you, Eric Vogel "Grant" <anonymous@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:07bf01c4f446$013f9a10$a301280a@phx.gbl... > > That is UNFORTUNATE.
