The funny thing is, it's highly unlikely that our own machines actually has any spyware installed ;-) However, a steady supply of infested machines isn't hard to come-by. So, did everyone notice a new version of HiJackThis has been released, with a simplified interface? -- AZC |

I agree that our machines are unlikely to be infected.
I'm assuming, that since this is a public beta, that the licensing will be such that I won't be afraid to install it on machines I don't normally maintain, but have sufficient influence over to be able to do that kind of thing. But we already know, or can find out, what malware the Giant software is able to deal with and then zoom in on the malware that needs to be dealt with but isn't yet. A toolbar here or there is no big deal, but Atlanta must deal with and keep up with the CoolWebSearch criminals, TV Media, lop.com, and Hacker Defender, along with all the nasty trojans that HD protects. Does anyone know if the Giant antispyware had a solution for win9x? -- Kent |

Giant doesn't handle TV Media worth a crap, and also has problems with some
of the VX2 variants. -- Larry Samuels MS-MVP (Windows-Shell/User) Associate Expert Expert Zone - www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/expertzone Unofficial FAQ for Windows Server 2003 at http://pelos.us/SERVER.htm "Kent W.
