Default can anyone confirm this

I booted my xp pc. It said that "The foll file is missing or corrupted: Windows\System\Vgaoem.fon" I followed the KB article 315338 and replaced the file. Now when I boot the PC it takes an hour to boot and when I click on anything it takes a very, very long time to respond. For some reason my Norton is automaticall disabled and cant be reenabled and also I keep getting a message box with "Format Drive C: Yes/No" Is this a virus? How can I get this resolved

Thanks Lads.

i would just format the computer and reinstall windows, if there isnt
anything really important on the computer that you need

if there is try reinstalling without formating the drive
