Hi,
MS Antispyware detected "eDonkey 2000" on my computer. It states that it "installs with adware". But I'm not using eDonkey2000; MS Spyware misdetected it. That piece of software has never touched my system. I'm actually using eMule (http://emule.sourceforge.net). eMule is an open-source replacement for eDonkey that does not have any spyware. The only reason AntiSpyware detected this as eDonkey was the registry entries to register the ed2k protocol (HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\ed2k). If AntiSpyware is going to label eMule as spyware then they should at least label it correctly. But I see no need for this since eMule does not bundle any spyware. --James |
