tapicfg.exe is a system utility provided with Windows
Server 2003, and is described here: http://www.microsoft.com/resources/...tion/WindowsSer v/2003/standard/proddocs/en-us/Default.asp? url=/resources/documentation/WindowsServ/2003/standard/prod docs/en-us/Tapigcfg.asp Apparently there is a tapicfg.exe spyware program as well, but the program can't seem to tell the difference between the good tapicfg.exe and the bad tapicfg. exe. If the program only determines whether or not a file is spyware based on file name, the program could actually cause more harm then good. Why wouldn't "evil-doers" on the net start making programs that had the same name as useful system utilities that come with Windows? By doing so, they could cause the Microsoft Anti-Spyware program to suggest to users to remove good and useful system utilities. |
