2002 Norton Pack Not able to be Up-dated

I hope someone may help me out here. I had purchased my
Norton 2002 in 2002. Late last year, Symantec wouldn't
allow me to up-date for a far lessor cost as apposed to
buying the Norton 2004. I had already un-installed my
2002 in order to recieve the newer version, but I was
unable to buy at that time. If I should need to purchase,
I would rather have the Norton 2005. I really do wish I
could just re-install my Norton 2002 and just receive the
up-dates at a lessor cost. If this isn't possible, I will
be more than happy to order my Norton 2005. Please help
me with this. I'm also wondering why we are not able to
receive these up-dates but once a year and then need to
actually "buy" another Norton.
