Default 2 PC's Resets with SP4

Hi,

I've just installed SP4 on 2 W2K machines (Previously SP3), and they both
reset while they are being used.
When I say 'reset' I mean, the screen flashes and you're back at the BIOS,
as if you pressed the reset button.
Anyone else having this problems?

Hhhmmm...
Also a Novell House.
What version of the Client are you running?
I'm using 4.83sp2A.
I'll post this on the Novell Support Forum.

Thanks

There were various patches from Microsoft and Novell on printer spooler
issues while under Win2000 SP3 and using the Novell Client. There was a
hotfix from Microsoft, there was also some beta patches from Novell.

Do you remember putting any of these on?

May be best to remove the Novell Client entirely and put on the latest
version (believe it's 4.83 SP2). Think (if memory serves) that the hotfix
from MS had to be uninstalled before SP4 went on (not sure about this one
though...).

Good luck,
James

Default Re: 2 PC's Resets with SP4 - Solved

Hi,
Problem solved.
Back revved Mup.sys to SP3's version.
Works OK

Problem resolved, not a Novell issue but a MS issue with Mup.sys.
Workaround until MS resolve the problem
HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Mup\DisableDFS set to 1. As a
temporary
workaround, set DisableDFS to 0

With DisbaleDFS set to 0 everything works 100%
