Default Speed up your Windows 2000 Server up to 30%

This is for the intermediate and advanced user. Turn of services you are
not using. Follow these instructions as a guideline as to what services you
can safely shutdown.

Intrigued by your suggestions of faster access I went to your site below and
disabled most of what you suggested after ascertaining the particular
services validity.

Well guess what - my OS is RS in that I am unable to alter any of the
services (changed or otherwise) back to what they were. My printer won't
print and i can't even drag'ndrop in WExplorer etc etc

Now when I click on properties in the services section of my administrator?
account I just cannot get a single one of them to pop up with the earlier
menu box that I performed my - automatic or manual or disable -
attributes with.

I have a complete record of every change I made but am unable to change
anything now in Services!

Any clues please to how I can get into the box and access the services
change facility again.

I am running w2k box on a standalone government pc in a remote location
using ADSL internet access and occasionally a VPN into head office.

TIA - mark

Sorry I did not reply right away, I've had my head in the clouds. Can you
share the list of services you modifed and show from what state to what
state you changed them. Are you connecting localy or remotely?

And if you didn't have a backup in the future at least copy the partition
your on to a new partition on a seperate disk.
