Do you have the w2ksp4.exe copied locally? Are you on a Domain, or a Workgroup? I need more information to help you. Can you give me repro steps? Hi Andrew
I tried downloading w2ksp4.exe and running it locally yesterday - still no success. I am on a University Domain and have Administrator access to my PC and all other applications (virus checker, etc ) have been closed. The error seems to occur when it gets to the installation of the wkstamig.inf file. When I try the windows help on "Access denied" I get the "File encryption overview" and I wonder if a file has been encrypted somewhere along the line. Thanks Owen >-----Original Message----- > >"Owen" <o.mcpherson@abdn.ac.uk> wrote in message >news:23b401c33f00$5a09afc0$a401280a@phx.gbl... >> SP4 - is it worth it? >> >> After three attempts - Installation stops half-way through >> with the error message "Access denied" each time and re- >> instates the previous configuration after which a whole >> heap of tmp files are left in the Systems folder and have >> to be manually deleted. >> >> Any ideas > > >Owen, > >Are you running this over the network?
