I have a 2003 TS box. When I try to connect to it from
anywhere on the WAN/LAN, it takes it approximately 20 seconds to make the connection. I have even tried plugging into the same switch as the box, and I have the same problem. I have two other 2003 TS boxes that are identical without this issue. HELP! |

Anything in the EventLog on the TS?
Are you using roaming profiles? -- Vera Noest MCSE, CCEA, Microsoft MVP - Terminal Server http://hem.fyristorg.com/vera/IT --- please respond in newsgroup, NOT by private email --- "Andrew Murrey" <andy@nframe.com> wrote in news:1175c01c441bb $8c4cf500$a001280a@phx.gbl: > I have a 2003 TS box. There is absolutely nothing in the event log. This machine is a workgroup member. No Domain. No roaming profiles. All of the accounts are local. >-----Original Message----- >Anything in the EventLog on the TS? >Are you using roaming profiles? > > -- >Vera Noest >MCSE, CCEA, Microsoft MVP - Terminal Server >http://hem.fyristorg.com/vera/IT > --- please respond in newsgroup, NOT by private email -- - > >"Andrew Murrey" <andy@nframe.com> wrote in news:1175c01c441bb >$8c4cf500$a001280a@phx.gbl: > >> I have a 2003 TS box. Mmm, difficult. When exactly is the delay occurring? Before you
get a login dialog box at all, or after you have logged on and before you get to the desktop? If it is the first case, I would monitor the processes on the server in Task Manager during this time, and use a network sniffer to see what the server is doing. If it is the second case, I would download FileMon and RegMon from http://www.sysinternals.com/. Run them as administrator on the console and start a TS session from a workstation. FileMon and RegMon will show you all files and registry keys that the server is touching during the login process. Hopefully, one of the above procedures will show you what takes the server so long. -- Vera Noest MCSE, CCEA, Microsoft MVP - Terminal Server http://hem.fyristorg.com/vera/IT --- please respond in newsgroup, NOT by private email --- "Andrew Murrey" <anonymous@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in news:137c401c44413$44146070$a301280a@phx.gbl: > > There is absolutely nothing in the event log.
