What you are probably seeing is called 'color
blossoming'. To prevent this from happening, you need to use a higher color connection, so an upgrade to RDP 5.2 might be in order (so thus, upgrade to Windows 2003 Server). -M >-----Original Message----- >Using latest Remote Desktop, the colours intermittently change on the >clients (set to 256). >Any ideas >David Hellewell > > >. > |

The 5.2 client can be downloaded from
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...ilyID=a8255ffc- 4b4a-40e7-a706-cde7e9b57e79&DisplayLang=en You'll have to buy the server, though ;-) -- Vera Noest MCSE, CCEA, MVP - Terminal Server http://hem.fyristorg.com/vera/IT --- please answer in newsgroup --- "David Hellewell" <dhellewell@ozemail.com.au> wrote in news:eElOa.271$fI5.14996@nnrp1.ozemail.com.au: > Where can I get RDP 5.2 as I can only find RDP 5.01 on the MS > site David Hellewell > "Matthew Harris [MVP]" <harris@crocker.ucdavis.edu> wrote in > message news:7bbb01c344c2$468b8a00$a401280a@phx.gbl... >> What you are probably seeing is called 'color >> blossoming'. Thats a bit rough when I have a problem with W98 clients using RDP 5.1 to
have to buy W2K3. -- David Hellewell "Vera Noest [MVP]" <vera.noest@remove-this.hem.utfors.se> wrote in message news:Xns93B1F2533C0Averanoesthemutforsse@207.46.248.16... > The 5.2 client can be downloaded from > http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...ilyID=a8255ffc- > 4b4a-40e7-a706-cde7e9b57e79&DisplayLang=en > > You'll have to buy the server, though ;-) > > -- > Vera Noest > MCSE, CCEA, MVP - Terminal Server > http://hem.fyristorg.com/vera/IT > --- please answer in newsgroup --- > > "David Hellewell" <dhellewell@ozemail.com.au> wrote in > news:eElOa.271$fI5.14996@nnrp1.ozemail.com.au: > > > Where can I get RDP 5.2 as I can only find RDP 5.01 on the MS > > site David Hellewell > > "Matthew Harris [MVP]" <harris@crocker.ucdavis.edu> wrote in > > message news:7bbb01c344c2$468b8a00$a401280a@phx.gbl... > >> What you are probably seeing is called 'color > >> blossoming'. Yes, I agree. But I'm afraid it is the only option to get more than
256 colours, apart from buying Citrix, which is at least as expensive. -- Vera Noest MCSE, CCEA, MVP - Terminal Server http://hem.fyristorg.com/vera/IT --- please answer in newsgroup --- "David Hellewell" <dhellewell@ozemail.com.au> wrote in news:s5mOa.1$3F6.106@nnrp1.ozemail.com.au: > Thats a bit rough when I have a problem with W98 clients using > RDP 5.1 to have to buy W2K3. |
