I get the following error in the event viewer when I try to start the
Terminal Server Licensing service(TSLS) from the "Service"-program. Same thing happens if I try to start it from the command prompt with "sc start TermServLicensing". Event Type: Error Event Source: Service Control Manager Event Category: None Event ID: 7024 Date: 2004-12-10 Time: 15:24:16 User: N/A Computer: MIDUTB4 Description: The Terminal Server Licensing service terminated with service-specific error 2 (0x2). I had the exact same problem earlier when I had just installed Windows 2003 Terminal Server, but then I just had to add File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks to my Local Area Connection and the TSLS started without a problem. I had activated TSLS and added all the CALs and it had been running for a few days giving out real licenses to the thin client users when I noticed some event id 7000 errors in the event viewer. These errors had to do with Novell's Remote Management, and since I'm not using it I used "RMSetup.exe /uninstall" then restarted the server. When the server started up again I got the TSLS error 7024 and wasn't able to start the service again. Any feedback on my problem would be appreciated, as I fear that I will have to re-install the whole OS and all programs and call Microsoft again for the code to activate TSLS. |

I finally managed to solve this problem without re-installing Windows. All I
had to do was to uninstall and install File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks and the Terminal Server Licensing service started. |
