Hello,
Let me start by pointing out that this question is strictly for 'educational purposes', it is absolutely not intended for any type of software license piracy, if one feels that replying Via this newsgroup might violate someone, please reply back Via email to nycomputerpro@yahoo.com and let me know that you replied. ABC software Inc. figured out a way to keep track which machine is logging in to terminal server to avoid piracy, to accomplish this they use each users personal profile in combination with the remote machines partition id (for now I assume its the Volume Serial Number, but I'm still skeptical) then takes both info and creates a hand shake with this remote machine, if the remote machines drive blows and a new partition is created it will ask you to re-register the program upon login, so in other words it doesn't keep track by the username but rather per machine, I'd like to find out the exact procedure of how this is accomplished, exactly what partition info being used, and how is it able to get that info from a WAN machine that's only connecting to port 3389, does terminal server have the ability to fully connect back to a WAN client once the session is established, what information does the server exchange with the client upon negotiating the connection. if any one has any info, please do advise, your input is greatly appreciated Thanks Jeff |
