Hi
I'm changing my system to terminal-services instead os my windows 2000 clients. My problem is however that I need to be able to log each users internet access. I have a server with ISA 2000 Std, but can i do this without the ISA server? My Other question is, can I transform my old windows 2000 Pro clients into thin clients, so they automatically log on to TS instead of logging on locally? Hope you can help Martin Edwards |

1. Windows does not have built-in IE logging, but your ISA Server can do this on a per-user basis.
2. I wouldn't recommend trying to change the Windows 2000 shell to use mstsc.exe, but rather to use a linux image or hardware module that transforms the computer into a thin client, so you no longer need to support the underlying Windows OS Two options are 1. F.Boot Desktop or F.Boot IDE/USB Module 2. If you are open to using a third party tool to help montior Internet Usage, I would recommend you take a look at SysTrack from Lakeside Software SysTrack can track which sites your users are visiting, how frequently, and allow you to shut down any unauthorized sites automatically. SysTrack also ships with an easy to use reporting facility to help produce web usage reports quickly and easily Good luck Carrie3010@yahoo.co |
