Hi there,
I recently downloaded and installed the remote desktop application and installed it on a machine running win 2000 pro (Sp3). I was then sent a request for help from someone running XP home, but was unable to connect to the MSincident file. Whenever I tried to open the file it would ask me which program to use, after trying Remote desktop and IE I am stumped. Can anyone help me??? Thanks for your time, Kane Ohh- The MSincident file worked fine when I tried it on a machine running XP... |

Both OSs mentioned, Windows 2000 Professional and Windows XP Home do NOT
have Remote Desktop capabilities. This means you CANNOT remote control such OSs as you can do with Windows XP Professional. The only thing you can do is to remote control another PC (that will be running Windows XP Professional) FROM a Windows 2000 Professional/Windows XP Home with the Remote Desktop Connection CLIENT installed on it. -- Cláudio Rodrigues Microsoft MVP Windows Technologies - Terminal Services http://www.terminal-services.net "el_kano" <kane.chapman@unifirst.co.nz> wrote in message news:eAzgF1V2DHA.1908@TK2MSFTNGP10.phx.gbl... > Hi there, > > I recently downloaded and installed the remote desktop application and > installed it on a machine running win 2000 pro (Sp3). > I was then sent a request for help from someone running XP home, but was > unable to connect to the MSincident file.
