Application vendors that specify that user must be administrators
are just lazy. It means that they don't bother to tell you exactly *which* user rights are necessary to run the application. So you'll have to find out yourself. Your best option is to download FileMon and RegMon from http://www.sysinternals.com/. Run them as administrator on the TS, start a TS session as a normal user and try to run the application. FileMon and RegMon will show you all "access denied" errors that occur, so that you can give your users the necessary permissions on a file-to file or Registry subkey basis. -- Vera Noest MCSE, CCEA, Microsoft MVP - Terminal Server http://hem.fyristorg.com/vera/IT --- please respond in newsgroup --- "Garry Dawkins" <gdawkins@nfo.com> wrote in news:013501c38ced $7bc6a6a0$a301280a@phx.gbl: > I have a problem when my users attempt to login to a > application on the server. the last time I used those tools and tried doing it that way for a
frustrating app, I had 4 hours into it. Sorry....but $250 over 4 hours anyday! Also, since this app linked to several others and generated reports, it is sometimes just not worth the time. -- Sincerely, Mark Mancini, CCA, CCNA, Master CIW&CI, CNE 4&5, MCSE+I 4&2000 www.MCSE2000.com www.AppLauncher.com "Vera Noest [MVP]" <vera.noest@remove-this.hem.utfors.se> wrote in message news:Xns940DDF7D1137Dveranoesthemutforsse@207.46.248.16... > Application vendors that specify that user must be administrators > are just lazy.
