suppressing logon progress window

Does anyone know how to get rid of the the logon progress
window that shows text like "Applying your personal
settings" and has a blue meter bar that continually
rotates left to right? If the window can't be done away
with is there anyway to stop the left to right rotation of
the blue meter? The reason I ask is the rotation of the
bar continually sends updates to the ica client and I'm
trying to eliminate all unnecessary traffic.
