I am looking for any URLs/materials where the technical specs for SMP
servers running terminal services clients are listed. My boss at work claims that only *one* cpu is *ever* used by TS (w2k advanced), and I'd like to prove him wrong. We are also seeing ridiculously poor performance (our 2-cpu Xeon with hyperthreading -- this means task manager and the like think it is a 4-way box, so is it possible that TS also thinks it's a 4-way?-- with 2.5 gb RAM * barely* manages 22 concurrent connections of TS clients ... this seems to be 5x too little!!!) Any help at all is appreciated. Thanks Alex |

Hi Alex,
When Hyper-Threading is enabled, the BIOS uses a logical to physical CPU ratio. Current implementations are using 2:1 ratios meaning there are 2 logical CPUs for each physical CPU. I think TS also thinks it's a 4-way CPU if you use 2 Xeon cpu.
