I'm hoping I am posting this to the correct group.
After installing SP4 for Win 2k and applying all critical updates for the OS and IE6, and installing Windows Media Player (9.0.0.2980) I have the issue where each time I try to shutdown the computer, it only restarts. I've tried searching the Knowledge Base for answers, but to no avail. Can anyone suggest what I should do to correct this problem? Thanks, -Max |

I don't know of a specific cause for this problem. The easiest way to determine if it is a startup program or service is to use msconfig.exe from Windows XP. Just copy it over from a XP machine to the desktop or anywhere on the 2000 system. Then use it to clean boot the system. Take a look at this article to see how to clean boot using msconfig. http://support.microsoft.com/defaul...kb;EN-US;310353 Good luck Leonard -- This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights. |
