Attaching a new Hard Drive

Hello, can anyone offer assistance? I have a problem. When
attaching a new disk drive, I experience the following
symptom, I can see the drive on my computer, however when
you double click for properties, you get an error code"
D:\ is not accessible" and "the device is not connected"

Did you partition and format the drive?

You need to do that first. Right click My Computer, select Manage, and go
into Disk Management.
