changing win xp to win 2000

I have purchased two new dell dimension 2400's with win xp
on them. They were purchased with xp because it was the
only option. I want to load Win2000Pro on them because
that is what the rest of the network is. The problem is
that when you insert the w2k disk, xp says that it has a
newer version and will not load. How do I get it to load?
