win2000 upgrade issue w/logon window

After the upgrade completed, the PC was restarted. The
initial logon window was displayed and requested
username/password. I had never set one up on the PC so I
tried to just select <cancel> to bypass window and continue
loading win2000. However, the system won't let me past the
logon window. Please help!
