Hi,
I'm upgrading NT4 to Win2k pro, after copying the new files, the computer reboot, then I got blue screen with error code: '0x000000D4' ....on cwantrl.sys file. Anybody has idea how to fix it or go back to the old system? This is urgent, thanks. Sarah |

Try yanking out all the ISA or PCI cards except video.
Then try booting again. Go into the BIOS. Depending on the type of BIOS make sure the computer knows it now has a "plug-n-play OS" and APM or ACPI, if the computer is capable. If it still doesn't boot, try hitting F8 at startup and boot to Safe Mode. If you can, delete everything from Device Manager that will let you. Run CHKDSK /R on all hard drive partitions and reboot. If you can't boot to safemode, boot to the Windows CD and choose Recovery Console command prompt and run CHKDSK /R on the C: drive from there. >-----Original Message----- >Hi, >I'm upgrading NT4 to Win2k pro, after copying the new files, the computer >reboot, then I got blue screen with error code: '0x000000D4' ....on >cwantrl.sys file. > >Anybody has idea how to fix it or go back to the old system? >This is urgent, thanks. >Sarah > > >. > |
