Default NT4 server to Win2k server

Hi all, I have an NT 4.0 sp6a PDC that I am upgrading to new hardware and to
Win2k server at the same time. There are no other PCD's or BDC's on the
network just Win2k Pro workstations. Would the best way to do this be to
upgrade to Win2k on the old server then tranfer to new server or to tranfer
to new server then upgrade to Win2k?

Thanks in advance, Jack

The easiest way would be this:

Install NT4 on the new hardware as a BDC
Promote the machine to PDC, and disconnect it from the LAN
Pop in the 2000 CD and perform an upgrade
Run through the AD installation wizard after the upgrade
Plug the machine back into the network
Upgrade the old machine, if you like
