Has anyone run into this problem before?
I can install any other Microsoft Networking services except IAS. Whenever it goes through the install, it stops midway and gives me this error: "Could not install or remove the Internet Authentication Service component because its administration tool is not present or is damaged". I've never installed IAS on this Win2K server prior and tried upgrading from SP3 to SP4 to see if it would make a difference. I then tried uninstalling the administration tools and installing it straight from the adminpak.msi file located on the Win2K CD. Anybody have any idea on where to start troubleshooting this error. The only other service running on the server was a test SQL2K with SP3 which I've removed as well. Short of blowing away the box, I'm not sure what can be done as I've found no references to this error msg on Microsoft's web site. |
