I recently had a Klez Worm H virus and it infected a file
called 1706.exe or 1706.dll or something like that. I had to remove the file in order to get rid of the virus .. but failed to write down the name of the file (recent stroke). Now I get an Error 1706. Any suggestion on locating and restoring the file? Thanks, Duane Loftus |

As far as I know, there are several viruses around (Klez, the new SoBig
strain, etc) that will create their own .exe or .dll. These files have no legitimate content--they are just a copy of the virus. I think it's safe to say that 1706.* is one of those. I would make sure you *didn't* have a 1706.* and then just go on with life as usual...
