Default Windows Explorer problem

My computer locks up quite frequently. I can do CTL + ALT
+ Del and I get Explorer (not responding). I can end the
task to unfreeze but what causes this to happen?

Eric,

That can be a bummer. Have you done some routine maintenance on the system
lately? Defrag, Scandisk (error check before defrag), Disk Cleanup, etc.
Make sure you on;t have something wierd like two antivirus programs running
at the same time.

Look in the event logs for clues.

Clean booting your machine will help identify TSR conflicts and other
