Default systemmd corrupt or missing

Hi,

I have partion on my hard drive and have windows XP and
windows 2000 advanced server on my machine. When I start
my computer and it asks which operatiing system you want
to pick (if I don't it starts with windows 2000). But when
I pick XP , I get this message "window 2000 SystemMD file
is missing or corrupt", and I can not start window XP. I
have installed all the service packs for window 2000. Can
anyone tell me what I can do to fix it.

Thanks
