Default Local Network Printer

My Network Places> Computers Near Me> Desktop with parallel port HP940c
Printer, and Laptop connected to Netgear DS104 Ethernet Hub..
I can share and access all files and folders from either computer, but
cannot print from the Laptop to the Desktop/Printer.. The printer will
appear to load the selected file, but then outputs a blank sheet of
paper.. I tried turning off the NAV "Auto Protect"(no luck)..

???????

Did you install the operating system specific driver for that printer at
serving computer? Imagine 2 clients, one Win9x and the other W2K. Both can
use the same printer IF the system sharing the printer has both OS drivers
installed.

Both PC's run W2K and work o.k when separately connected by parallel
cable to the same HP printer ..

Delete printers from laptop, open ServerProperties/Drivers and delete
drivers, restart spooler, then reinstall network printer only.
