Default reinstalling windows 2k w/o cdrom support!

Hello, I am having trouble reinstalling windows 2000 on my
HP Pavilion 750n. The system currently cant recognize the
dvd or rewritable drives. before i was able to fix this,
the system crashed. one night i was really upset, and
decided to just start from scratch by reinstalling
windows. booted up with floppies, and then, doh! cant use
the cd to load the OS (yeah i have kicked myself already)
i had copied the i386 folder to the c: and was able to
babyfeed some files it asked for; but eventually i still
couldnt get the system to boot. any ideas how to reinstall
or even format my HD w/o cdrom support??

See if this MS Knowledge Base article can help you:

http://support.microsoft.com/?id=290790

Your CD should be accessible when you boot from it, or from the diskettes.
If it isn't, then I would rather suspect a hardware error.

Best regards
