unable to instal 2k over 98

I have tried to install 2000 over my current installation
of 98 but each time it fails.

It adds the windows 2000 pro setup to the boot menu - but
when i allow it to load it goes through setup to a dark
blue screen asking if all my HDD are connected properly
(they are - i can see them in 98) and to run chkdk F:\
(which i have done and it did nothing)

Any ideas how i can solve this?

Are you deleting the old partition during setup? Sounds like you aren't - if
you want to completely get rid of Win9x and have only 2k, you'll need to.
