Default Windows 2000 SP4 problem

Hello,
Once I installed Win2k Service Pack 4 on some workstations, Outlook Express
would no longer run. OE runs under a SOCKS client (Permeo) to get access
thru the firewall. There's no problem on other computers that don't need the
SOCKS client. Before I investigate it from the SOCKS side, has anyone else
experienced this or can someone verify this?

OE shows up in the process list, but no UI shows.

thanks,
-scott

i have no idea what Socks is...but it does sound like

this is related to sp 4's 2 NEW SECURITY
settings...

please look at the following Q article:

I am runing Win2K SP4, IE 6 SP1, and OE 6 with SOCKS Version 2.33
(2.33-030401) without any problems. What version of IE/OE and Socks are you
runing?
