Somehow I deleted something called 'Sis display' - I
thought I would get the option to cancel the delete that I pushed accidentally, but I didn't. The display set itself to 16 colors, and the selector for color options in the control panel only gives the 16-color and 2-color option. I also cannot reset the display size. The deleted item is not in the recycle bin and I can't find it in SFC. The Sis icon just turned up in the tray one day, and I opened it to find out what it was. Have searched Microsoft help files all over the place, no luck. How to go back 5 days and see what was deleted, or how do I find and restore this item? Tried reloading Windows - no change. BTW where is the Win 98 newsgroup? This is the closest I could find. Please email me if you know the answer! Many thanks! |

It sounds like you just need to reinstall the Sis video
display drivers again. That's what you deleted, it was actually a hardware delete that you did. No problem, it just deleted it from Windows, not from the motherboard! lol Hopefully you have the Sis video display driver cd somewhere. >-----Original Message----- >Somehow I deleted something called 'Sis display' - I >thought I would get the option to cancel the delete that I >pushed accidentally, but I didn't.
