Unable to complete the operation on security

When trying to open the Event Viewer Security Log, the
following message appears; "Unable to complete the
operation on 'security'. A Required privilege is not held
by the client".

Details of the server:

- Windows 2000 Server SP2
- Member of Active Directory domain (we're not able to
check domain policies, there shouldn't be any)
- Logon as Domain Administrator or Local Administrator

Has anyone experienced a similar problem?

If the Active-Directory Domain Administator can look into
your servers's event viewer using the MMC console it's a
rights problem.
