OT for .registry now, but ensure the correct IDE cabling and any
Master/Slave/CS jumpers on the drive. If the BIOS supports 80GB
drives, do not use Drive Overlay software that may be pre-installed
or installable for a WD diskette. Set BIOS as needed. Might be
"Auto". Might be "Enable LBA" or similar....

Just another 2 cents, but if I am correct this is primarily a
hardware and not an OS or registry issue. ... I could be wrong. ;-)
