Issue Printing TTF Fonts on Windows 2000 Machine

Hey,
Having a problem with all of my 2000 clients (3 of them). When printing
documents with TTF fonts out of applications like MS Word etc text is
not printed. When using system fonts it works OK, however if i directly
connect one of the clients to the printer using the same driver
redirected to LPT1, the problem does not occur. The problem does not
occur when printing from the server, nor does it occur when printing
from XP clients I've updated the drivers on the server with no luck.

Hardware/OS:
Print server is 2000/SP4
Printers experiencing the issue:
HP Laserjet4 and HP Laserjet 5 printing through a Jet Direct 170x (yeah,
pretty old huh?
Printers not experiecing the issue:
HP Laserjet 4100MFP


Any help would be greatly appreciated, this has been lingering for over
2 weeks.
