Poor printing performance after SP4 upgrade

Ever since I upgraded my computer to SP 4 and the other
recommended security updates, my PC prints painfully
slow. Also, when printing it appears that most/all of
the system resources are used because you can barely even
move the mouse. Any suggestions?

Sorry, not a direct solution, but after installing about 40 security
updates to a client's Win2000 Server, it would no longer print. I
*specifically* unselected all known updates and service packs from the list
returned that I had heard caused problems with printing afterward.

Still, "Error printing to DOT4" popped up for the HP G85 shared printer.
Had to uninstall and re-install the drivers twice before I got the darn
thing working again.
