Epson 785 EPX Install problem or W2K Quirk?

Hello, I have been trying to install the Epson 785
drivers, however a W2K window pops up and informs me
that "Windows may be operating in an abnormal condition".
After several reboots and such I have yet to determine
what the abnormal condition might be. Any ideas what to
look for? Thanks, Jeff
