hp colour laserjet 4550

this printer is doing my head in.it prints when it likes
what it likes and any amount of whatever it prefers.I've
uninstalled , reinstalled ,and then uninstalled the
drivers several times.is therea known problem with this
printer and windows2000.heeelp
