Hello everyone,
I have a Print Server that have HP LaserJet 8000DN Network Printer install and I have Win 98 SE client that I am trying to install this printer to their machine. When I Add the Printer and I Browser the Network I see the Print Server and when I click on the (+) next to the Print Server I don't see the printer. I install the Addition Driver for the Win 98 machine the printer is share. I try to type the network path name for the printer and it does not find it. When I install the printer from a Win 2000 Professional computer I can see the printer and it work. But not in Windows 98 Does any one know the reason why I am not able to see the printer. If so email me thank you for your time. |

See if File & Print Sharing is enabled and make sure your
permissions are correct. You can use the net use command to map the printer. >-----Original Message----- >Hello everyone, > >I have a Print Server that have HP LaserJet 8000DN Network >Printer install and I have Win 98 SE client that I am >trying to install this printer to their machine. Perhaps you are sharing your printer like : "HP LaserJet 8000DN " ??
Windows 95/98 doesn't like spaces AND names that are longer than 12 (I think) characters . If you stick to 8 characters it will work for sure . Onyx .
