Default Software Update Service

Has anyone else experienced problems trying to install the Software Update Service (SUS) client? Whether I install it on a Windows XP SP1 machine or one with Windows 2000 SP4, I recieve an error stating that It can only be installon on... believe it or not... a machine with XP SP1 or Win2k SP4. I searched the Microsoft web but can see no fix.

The autoupdate client is included in the two service pack
version you have mentioned. The message accurately
tells you what versions it can be installed into, but you
evidently have not read it carefully as it say differently
from what you have repeated in your post.
