I have went to Start/run /type in winver and it tells me I
have 5.0 version of IE.
but when I go to the help in the dropdwn In IE to check
the version list It says version 6.0 SP 1 128 strength ,
so I can not open secured sites on some & some I cant it
states invalide browser or cannot find DNS or the page
cannot be displayed, I have been to the knowledge base and
and changed the security setting as instructed no success
does any one else know please ?
Thank You

WINVER gives you the Winodws information. As far as I know - it says
nothing about Microsoft Internet Explorer.

It sounds like you have the QHOST trojan.
Get a cleanup tool from some antivirus software vendor (like symantec.com)
and clean up that infection. Make sure you keep your antivirus software
updated. Scan for spyware/adware with other software. Turn on your
firewall.
