Is it total hard locking and requring reboot or just
crashing to desktop? I had total hardlocks with my Radeon 9700 Pro, and solved it by reducing AGP to 4x. Worth a go. >-----Original Message----- >A cannot play any 3D games with my new computer. >my computer: >CPU : Amd Athlon XP 3000+ boxed 0.13u 2.167GHz/333MHz >Mobo: Asus A7N8X Deluxe Gold ddr/agp8x/usb2/1394/sata rev >1.06 BIOS updated to ver 1004 >Chipset: nVidia nForce2-ST >RAM : 2 x Apacer 512MB DDR 400MHz, PC-3200/400MHz. >OS: w2k sp3 >Directx 9.0a >Display/graphics card: Creative 3d Blaster 5 fx5900 ultra >256 MB >(bad choice?) > >Games halt after 1 or 2 minutes. i had the same problem with my geforce4. use memtest86.com
and scan your RAM. i had faulty sectors in one of my 512 sticks and it would give me the same error. you should find corrupted memory, if so replace it or return it and that should solve your problem. >-----Original Message----- >A cannot play any 3D games with my new computer. >my computer: >CPU : Amd Athlon XP 3000+ boxed 0.13u 2.167GHz/333MHz >Mobo: Asus A7N8X Deluxe Gold ddr/agp8x/usb2/1394/sata rev >1.06 BIOS updated to ver 1004 >Chipset: nVidia nForce2-ST >RAM : 2 x Apacer 512MB DDR 400MHz, PC-3200/400MHz. >OS: w2k sp3 >Directx 9.0a >Display/graphics card: Creative 3d Blaster 5 fx5900 ultra >256 MB >(bad choice?) > >Games halt after 1 or 2 minutes.
