Hi,
I am in a workgroup environment(no domain/server) all W2K machines, I need to assign a user(sweepupd) on each computer to "log in as a service". I would like to set this setting remotely without having to visit each machine. I have tried gpedit.msc /gpcomputer:"compname" however I cant access the local security policy. Is there away to have a mmc open up a remote computers local security policy? I also dl ntrights.exe but I am unsure if it can do what I want. Thank You |

Ntrights should work fine as long as you are logged onto your computer as a user that
is a local administrator on the target computer. With ntrights the right you want to grant is case sensitive so be sure to type carefully. Use for instance [ ntrights -m \\remotecomputer +r SeServiceLogonRight -u sweepupd ]. See the KB link below for more info on ntrights. --- Steve http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=266280 "fmilano" <milanofabio@hotmail.com> wrote in message news:7806772.0403161422.633a8c47@posting.google.com... > Hi, > > I am in a workgroup environment(no domain/server) all W2K machines, I > need to assign a user(sweepupd) on each computer to "log in as a > service".
