Disconnected Network Drive

I frequently see a Red "X" on a network attached drive.
The Type field shows that it is a "Disconnected Network
Drive". If I click on the drive mapping, it opens
correctly and the Red X goes away for a while, only to
return.

Is there a way to disable the Red X, so that users don't
think there is a problem? Since they can access the drive
normally, this is a confusing "signal" to show.
