There is no supported upgrade path from WinME to Windows 2000

You'll need format the partition and start a new install.

Can I new install win 2k in another partition and try to
save the data that's on the original partition. I currently can get at most of the data...I just keep getting the file verifiction errormessage. Yes, dual-boot is not a problem. Windows ME was released after Windows 2000,
