That is a Netbios function and not DNS.

To stop them from showing up in the hood would require (on the client side)
to disable the F&P Services on a W9x, W2k or XP. Otherwise, they will show
up as default behavior. On an NT4, W2k, XP or W2k3, you can use this on the
client to kill that:
net config /hidden:yes.
